MY PERSONAL JOURNEY
I was born in a small town in Michoacan, Mexico, near the migratory landing home of the monarch butterflies. My journey brought me to Central America, northern Mexico, the rainy Oregon coast and finally to Oakland California. The Bay Area has been my home for the last 28 years.
My journey has brought me a deep understanding of many cultures and their experiences with immigration, trauma, resilience and healing.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
I received my Masters of Social Work degree from San Francisco State University and a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. I have over 20 years of experience providing bilingual, culturally responsive psychotherapy in a variety of settings, including community-based therapy, counseling centers, and within hospital & medical facilities.
